June 2023 | redaktion2 European productions or co-productions with at least one European country involved and in the shooting, later stage of production or post-production, can be now submitted for the 6th European Work in Progress Cologne, which will take place from 16 to 18 October. Eligible are projects that have shooting material available to be presented to the selected attending group of film industry representatives and are seeking to close a gap in the final financing or to find suitable partners for an adequate international release strategy. A total of up to 30 European feature films (documentary, animation and fiction) will be selected by the committee to be presented exclusively to world sales companies, distributors, festival programmers and film industry professionals during the event. Thanks to the partnership between EWIP and TorinoFilmLab a selection of film projects developed or supported within the FeatureLab, ScriptLab and TFL Funds programmes and now in post-production stage will be part of the EWIP official selection. The pitches are scheduled for a maximum of 15 minutes including film excerpts and a Q&A. Besides the many informal networking opportunities, there will be individual one-to-one meetings, panel discussions, workshops and evening events to make the participation as impactful as possible. The selected European (co-)productions will be elegible for the different EWIP Awards including post-production services worth around 50,000 € provided by our partners K13 Studios, MMC Film & TV Studios, LAVAlabs Moving Images, Dolby, Gruvi, Way Film, mm filmpresse as well as the EWIP TorinoFilmLab Audience Design Award. A jury of renowned film professionals will be once again awarded them to the best projects. European Work in Progress Cologne (EWIP) will celebrate its 6th edition from 16 to18 October 2023 thanks to the support of Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, one of Europe’s leading film funding institutions, and takes place ahead and in cooperation with the Film Festival Cologne (19-26 October 2023) as well as AG Verleih, the association of German independent film distributors.
