29. August 2018 | redaktion The resonance to the first edition of European Work in Progress Cologne is overwhelmingly positive. Producers, world sales companies as well as film distributors are welcoming the newly initiated market platform. More than 100 feature film projects with participation of 24 EU-countries and 49 countries overall, have been submitted to European Work in Progress Cologne taking place from October 9th to 11th, 2018 during the Film Festival Cologne. Around 25 carefully selected projects with high-quality appeal and crossover market potential oriented to an European and international arthouse audience will be presented. European Work in Progress Cologne aims to create opportunities to collaborate with experienced sales agents, distributors, producers, commissioning editors, financiers, festival representatives as well as other complementary partners. An international jury will award three projects with vouchers for post-production services endowed with 20,000 €, respectively 15,000 € provided by the MMC Studios as well as a voucher for sound-post-production services worth 10,000 € by the K13 Studios. European Work in Progress Cologne will be complemented by various panel discussions on alternative distribution strategies in cooperation with Creative Europe Desks Germany and EAVE.
